Another day to celebrate (yesterday I described this in the Dutch post). Waking up with a feeling of gratitude for the progress I’m experiencing in healing, after about 10 days of feeling tossed about in a tumble dryer. Swelling in lower limbs seems past tense, even the red inflammation patches on my shins have cleared. Bronchi feeling 90% cleared, no more itchy cough reaction when consciously breathing deeply. Bike trip to hospital yesterday for blood test was like it used to be: up-tempo and not having to catch my breath.
Regaining confidence in my ability to monitor my health by paying attention to what I feel and sense. Phone call with from haematologist-oncologist this morning was opened with a smiling voice and joy at the results of the blood-work. My Hb was up to 6.6 mmol/l, which it hasn’t been for ages. WBC (white blood cell) count had dropped again, from 220 on Sept. 9th to 180 now, which means more room in my bone-marrow for the production of RBCs (red blood cells – lack of which caused chronic anaemia). I can feel that my spleen has drastically shrunk.
Next chemo treatment will again be a single drug, which suits me fine. No need to use a sledgehammer if a if a silversmith’s tapping will do.
