This time in English to accommodate the dear ones following me who have difficulty understanding Dutch:

Yesterday, Tuesday, was a day of disillusionment: the faith I placed in the regular medical care suffered a credibility crisis: after ceasing intake of a second pharmaceutical, the drug designed to protect my kidneys from the toxins released by the treatment (4 days after it was entered in my online file at the hospital as discontinued. – I have no recollection of anyone telling me this explicitly). What upset me was the fact that the drug was a second suspect of causing/triggering my considerable skin rash. Precisely on Saturday it flared up after having abated two weeks after my first series of shots.

There are issues here that I want to share here on this site, all in due course. Just about everything in my body has been shaken up.

What livened up matters was a visit with overnight stay on Tuesday by my dear friend from student days continuously ’til now, and his partner. People with whom I share a lot. The delicious food they brought and prepared, along with calm, connective company melted any discomfort I might have been aware of before. This morning I woke up quite refreshed and cheerful despite my usual restless sleep which is unfortunately a recent development.

After their departure came the icing in the cake; my little big sister invited me for a meal at a local restaurant (I’m on holiday in Harlingen). The meal was fit for a king and the service, care and presentation were excellent at a very reasonable price. The evening definitely contributed to a good night’s sleep and a cheerful rising.

Lot of things to remember in the course of a day. Dear family and friends, if you’d like to follow me on this journey, feel free to subscribe, then you’ll be notified by email when there are updates.

Regarding my rash and other nagging discomforts, I followed my intuition and interrupted the intake of the third pharmaceutical – meant to flush Potassium out of my blood. See what that does. Need to hydrate better to take over that function – bit of a challege seeing that I’m rarely thirsty.
